Not sure who will read this but read til the read. On the news there is a story of a 15, FIFTEEN, year old girl who was ganged raped and beaten by a suspected 5 people over the course of 2 hours at a dance. Not only that but there was a suspected 2 dozen other people who watch, possible took pictures, and harassed this girl as she is being assaulted. At this dance are at least 4 cops who saw a large group of boys on the edge of the campus where they should not have been and did not even get near them.

Please tell me all who are reading this feel sick to their stomach right now. You are? Good lets continue.

The girl has since been released from the hospital and several people have been taken into custaty. However there are some of this girls peers who are trying to BLAME this girl, that by her drinking with people who were her FRIENDS, she was asking for trouble.

Lets think about this. YOu are close friends with someone who offers you a drink. Who reading this thinks that this friend will end up raping you? Not only that but Alcohol is NO excuse for violence. Alcohol makes things easier to do, like to ask some one out that when you are sober would be too nervous to. That means that these boys would very likely have done this act to another girl in the same situation.

Besides the assaulters themselves, think of the people who watched this girl beg for salvation from them and catcall her and never get help. Is it not sick to think that these people will never be charged for anything? These people WHO WATCHED this girl being assaulted will get off free.

Not only that but think about this. Think of the mental thoughts going though these people. To just stand there, watching, hearing this girl beg for her freedom and help, likely knowing through all the school programs that hurting and assaulting is wrong, did nothing. Does that not give you the image that they enjoyed watching this girl in pain.

Think of this girl. At 15 years old, her trust in friends is destroyed, her image of intimacy is forever ruined. It is unlikely that this girl will ever feel safe again, and if it was me I know I would likely commit suicide.

Everyone who reads this, if you ever have children, teach them about human curtsy, and TALK TO YOUR KIDS ON SEX. School don't do it, or don't do it well and the only other source is media. Think of the last time you saw a music video with a man surrounded my girls, a girl half naked, think back to a movie that wasn't a romantic that showed sex as love and not just sex? I know it's uncomfortable to think that your baby is growing up but think about this. If your child at a decent age 10 or older knows the consequences of sex, pregnancy, disease, violence, how likely are they to engage in the practice before they are ready.

Defination of Rape:

1. the unlawful compelling of a woman (or man, straight or gay) through physical force or duress to have sexual intercourse.
2. any act of sexual intercourse that is forced upon a person.
3. to force to have sexual intercourse.

Consent is a verbal ok to continue. A drunk person is not themselves as they are sober, there fore consent of a drunk person is not real consent. I'm not sure what the take is on buzz consent. But everyone out there, if they don't give you a definite YES, push you away, say no, or anything else like that, it is not consent and you can be charged with rape or statutory rape.

PS I am still watching this story after i started this journal. New news is that some people not only observed but participated. Also good news, the police are going to try to charge the observers. Justice needs to be served. If anyone else feels as strongly as I, I suggest contacting CNN comment thingy or maybe a petition or a donation for this girl.
